The 12 acre Ko Olina Resort and Marina on the south-west shore of Oahu, Hawaii near Honolulu is the setting for the Paradise Cove Luau which includes a traditional feast and festivities.

Paradise Cove Luau is the biggest Hawaiian luau you are likely to witness. This is a chance to be part of one of the best attractions in Honolulu. It is more than just a dinner by the ocean with a spectacular show of native culture. It is an experience that is unique where traditional songs and dances combine with the traditional food of the Hawaiian people.

Guests to the Paradise Cove Luau most often arrive by bus. Many of the hotels in Waikiki have a bus pick up. As guests arrive they are treated to a complementary mai tai, or fruit punch. Then they stand in a long line, sipping their drinks, until they reach the end of the line where they are photographed with one off the show's entertainers. Then they either are shown to their table, or they may choose to experience some of the entertainment on offer before the dinner.

The pre-dinner entertainment goes on for a full two hours, and is extremely varied. There is also a range of activities to indulge in such as the Hawaiian Arts and Crafts where guests are taught to weave palm fronds or make a flower lei. Other activities include riding in an outrigger canoe as well as spear throwing and rolling disks made of stone. They can even take part in the ritual of pulling the fish nets out from the sea. This is known as a Hukilau.

Another popular show among guests at the Paradise Cove Luau is the Shower of Flowers. It is rather like a snow shower, but warmer. Guests find themselves inside a colorful, fragrant cascade of flowers while standing on a white sands beach. They can also watch the expert local tree climbers ascend the palms at amazing speed with just their bare feet.

The trumpet sound of a conch shell being blown heralds the start of another set entertainment and its location. Guests quickly learn to follow along and join in the fun and the two hours soon fly by.

The Hawaiian Revue is a spectacular feature that includes dances from Samoan and Tahitian and has dancers in national costume from all over the Pacific region. Members of the audience are encouraged to join in the spectacle. The grand finale of the entertainment is the thrilling, somewhat dangerous, but totally spectacular fire knife dance. It is a sight that you will not forget in a hurry.

The Paradise Cove Luau menu that the guests can enjoy will vary, but can include, salads of various kinds, dinner rolls and butter, lomi lomi salmon, roasted kalua pig, delicious local fish with macadamia nut crème sauce and chicken with freshly steamed rice. This can be finished off with local pineapple pieces, cakes made from coconut and banana, all washed down with coffee or tea.
